Last week, the Further Maths group was fortunate to have a talk on the use of Matrices by Dr Juan Bercial, from LUSOM (Lancaster University School of Mathematics).
The visit focused on the concept of matrices to an attentive group of pupils. With a dynamic and engaging approach, the lecturer demystified the complexities of matrices, providing real-world examples to enhance understanding. The pupils actively participated, gaining a solid grasp of the topic which will hopefully prove invaluable over the next few years as their mathematical journey progresses. Dr Juan's easy going and positive approach coupled with his adept communication skills and interactive teaching style hopefully fostered a positive and enriching learning experience for the pupils.
I would like to thank him for his time with the pupils and look forward to welcoming him back to school in the very near future.
