A spooky, new display has gone up in the library to celebrate the creepiest of seasons. The 'Batty about Books' display featured spooky eyes, flying bats and a variety of ghoulish children's and young adult books, especially selected by our pupil librarians.
"Some of our pupil librarians are big fans of the horror genre," said Mrs N. Dearden. "With their knowledge we were able to create a captivating display. Forward facing displays, such as this, can help our pupils select a book to read for pleasure and highlight different genres to pupils. It has already proved popular"
The display contains books penned by some well known authors such as R.L. Stine, Joseph Delaney, Suzanne Collins and Alan Gibbons. Alan visited Archbishop Temple last year and spent the day with pupils, discussing his life, work and inspirations. Next month author Alice Broadway will be coming into school to take a series of writing workshops in our school library. Alice will also be signing copies of her book during the second half of lunch and answering questions posed by our budding authors and writers.
