Mrs Dearden, our school librarian, has been very busy recently ordering lots of lovely, new books for the school library. As reported in the autumn term, 'The Big Read' raised over two hundred pounds to be spent on new titles.

"I have been updating all the stock, replacing popular books in poor condition and filling in the gaps in box sets," said Mrs Dearden. "I have also bought some new box sets including; the 'Cherub' series by Robert Muchamore, 'The Mortal Engines Quartet' by Philip Reeve and I have completed the set of 'Home for Peculiar Children'."

"I am also really pleased to be able to buy in pupil requests. One pupil ordered the 'Heroes of Olympus' series written by Rick Riordan, who wrote 'Percy Jackson', and we now have it here on the shelves. It is important to have updated stock in the library, to encourage pupils to read. The library can comfortably house 4,000 books and we are nearing that total, which is really good news."
