Monday 1st July 2019, saw the launch of 'Kindle Corner' in the school library. The facility was suggested by Will, a pupil librarian in year 8. He and other pupils wanted a comfortable, quiet space in the library to read and to be able to choose from the wide array of suitable titles available on the 'Kindles'.
He bravely pitched his idea at a 'Dragon's Den' style PTA event and it was one of the few projects that were chosen by the PTA to fund. Will chose the colour of each giant bean-bag to match our school House colours. The comfy corner is already proving popular with pupils, as you can see!
In other news, Abigail in year 9 was awarded 'Pupil Librarian of the Year 2019' this week. Well done to Abigail, her postive, helpful attitude and diligent work ethic really impressed Mrs Dearden, our school Librarian. Mrs Dearden will be looking for more pupils to get involved with the school library in the new academic year. Application forms to become a Pupil Librarian will be available from September. Pupils are advised to check pupil notices for further information.
If you are a parent or carer and would like to get involved with fundraising with our school PTA, then do come along to next PTA meeting on Thursday 3rd October in the Music Block at 7pm. If you can't attend, but would like to help, email the PTA Chair, Claire Sheridan at firstname.lastname@example.org
