Mrs Dearden, our school Librarian, was delighted to discover a number of kind book donations on her desk following the Christmas break. Ms. Ryder, Head of Business Studies, had donated a full set of sixteen stories written by children's author Michael Morpurgo. The set of classic stories includes War Horse and Private Peaceful.

"It was fantastic to receive so many books in such great condition," said Mrs Dearden. "I am sure our pupils will be thrilled to have more books to choose from the library. We also received some kind donations for the staff section in the library."

Mrs Siddle, Acting Headteacher, donated Hag-seed by Margaret Atwood, The Siege by Helen Dunmore, Walking Away by Simon Armitage and Somebody I Used to Know by Wendy Mitchell. Mrs Coxon, Assistant Headteacher, donated The One Plus One by Jojo Moyes. All of these titles will be available for members of staff and pupils in year 11 to borrow.

"It is great to see staff, as well as pupils using our school library," said Mrs Dearden. "There is time to read in the school day so pupils must always carry a reading book in their school bag, hence our school library is very well utilised. We welcome any donations of books. Each book that is donated is catalogued and a book plate is place inside the front cover detailing the person who donated it. Thank-you to everyone who has already donated books, they really do create a buzz in the library."

If you would like to donate books to the school library, please leave them at our school reception marked for the attention of Mrs Dearden, School Librarian. Please include the name of the person donating the books so a book plate can be placed inside.
