There is more to an individual than a set of academic qualifications and it is vital that our pupils develop the skills that are required in an ever-changing labour market. Young people need to acquire and demonstrate the skills which will add value to an employer’s business, while at the same time enabling them to release their own potential and to achieve satisfaction and success in their working lives.

These skills would include problem solving, reliability, teamwork, communication, time management, creativity and respect for others. Within school there are opportunities for pupils to develop some of these; through House responsibilities, sports teams, prefect duties, involvement in enterprise activities etc.
