Yesterday afternoon we hosted our annual Careers and Options event. We were delighted to see so many Year 9, 10 and 11 pupils and their parents and carers in attendance.

A range of employers, training providers, college and university representatives supported the event. Special thanks to the representatives from Alstom, the Army Careers service, BAE Systems, Cardinal Newman College, Chorley Building Society, Concept 4, CREATE Education Project, CSC, Edge Hill University, GB3 technology Solutions, Hutton Grammar, Lancaster Girls Grammar School, Myserscough College, the NHS, North Lancs Training Group, Lancashire Police, RAF, Royal Bank of Scotland, Runshaw College, Suresite Group, UCLAN, United Utilities and VL Lancs for supporting our school and advising parents and pupils on career choices, training, apprenticeships and courses. We would also like to extend our thanks to careers advisor Vic Ficorilli, solicitor Carl Sebastian and Hayley Topselvi from the Young Chamber.

Teachers were also on hand to advise Year 9 pupils and their parents and carers on their Options. All Year 9 pupils will attend an individual Year 9 Options Consultation with a senior member of staff on the week beginning Monday 27th February 2017. Appointment times will be issued following the half term holiday.

Thanks to the PTA for providing refreshments throughout the evening and thanks again to everyone who attended. We received a lot of positive comments from parents and pupils. We hope that it was useful and look forward to hosting another successful event again next year.
