Year 7 Boys Head to National Football Finals at St Georges Park
The Year 7 boys football team played in the Lancashire Rotary Cup Football Competition on Thursday 30th March 2017. They performed magnificently well winning all of their group games against St Cecilia's Catholic High School, Our Lady's Catholic High School, Lytham St Annes Technology and Performing Arts College, Moor Park High School and Christ the King Catholic High School. They progressed to the 1/4 final vs Southlands High School and in a hard fought game went one behind with three minutes to go before staging a fantastic comeback. The boys then came up against a strong St Bedes' team from Lytham in the semi final and came away with a 3-1 win. Progressing onto the final they came up against Fulwood Academy and dominated the game from start to finish finishing 5-1.
The boys performed fantastically well and won a new kit for the school worth £250 and the prestigious prize of representing the county at the National Football Centre at St Georges Park.
Well done to the following boys, Isaac Mabaya, Kieran Whitworth, Jake Forshaw, Owen Sharp, Henry Nelson, Jack Sheridan, Jacob Salim and Charlie Atkinson.
