The Sports Department are proud to announce some outstanding performances from our young sports people this term.
Boys' Football
The boys' football teams have had a very strong start to the season in District, County and National competitions. Most notably the Year 7 A & B teams and Year 8’s who have both qualified from their leagues for the league final. Good luck to all three teams in the finals. The Year 8’s have also had a great cup run in the National Cup beating teams from Kirkby Lonsdale, Blackpool and Clitheroe. They have a 5th round game against St Gabriel's RC High School, Bury coming up. Star Performers from all years have been Sam Darley, Alden Wynn, Charlie Atkinson and Will Walmsley.
Girls' Football
The girls have had another great start to the football season, the Under 16’s have one game to play in the Preston league which will hopefully secure them a league final at Deepdale. The Under 14’s qualified for the Deepdale final in convincing fashion winning all of their games. Finally the Year 7’s have had a great start to the season winning all of their games in Preston, Lancashire and National Cup. Currently all three teams are progressing well in the Lancashire Cup. Star performers have been Olivia Wilding, Kelsey Queen, Louise Stritch, Menna Shirras, Lauren Tunstall and Tara Lynch.
Indoor Athletics
Fantastic news with both the Year 7 Boys and Girls winning the Preston Indoor Athletics competition beating off competition from all schools in Preston. The teams both performed magnificently well the boys winning by 3 points and the girls wining by 6. Both teams will now go onto represent Preston at the county final in the new year. Star performers on the day were James Ince, Ed Nash, Bella Buraimo & Emma Tunstall.
