16 July 2018

The sun shone down on our young athletes, on Friday 29th June 2018, for the annual school sports day. Staff and pupils donned their freshly designed house t-shirts and spent the morning cheering on their house.

The day began with the 100 metre sprints, the field events followed; shot putt, long jump and high jump. Meanwhile the track events continued with the 800, 200, 400 and 300 metre races. As temperatures rocketed pupils, and staff, stayed cool with ice-cold water and ice lollies. Following the impressive house cheerleading routines the relays got underway. After lunch all staff and pupils gathered in the sports hall as Mr Baines, Director of Pupils, announced the winning house on sports day and the house with the most house points from the year.

The sports day results were as follows;

1st place -   Canterbury

2nd place -  Winchester

3rd place -   York

4th place -   Durham

The overall house points winner for the year was Winchester. All staff and pupils from Winchester will be enjoying a day out at Blackpool Pleasure Beach as a reward!
