On Thursday 4th April 2019, we were delighted to welcome pupils in year 5 at St Andrew’s C of E Primary School to Archbishop Temple School.

The children took part in an art and a music workshop, in preparation for a concert in the evening. They spent the morning working on their own compositions with musicians from Archbishop Temple School. Mr Bartlett Percussion Teacher and Miss Sherwood Head of Performing Arts were on hand to give guidance.

Pupils also took part in an art workshop with Mrs Smith, Technology Teacher. They took inspiration from the concert’s theme ‘Earth Mission’ pupils created colourful astronaut masks.

In the evening, everyone took part in the concert, entitled ‘An Evening with St Andrew’s Primary School’. The concert included performances by St Andrew's Primary School Choir, Archbishop Temple School Choir, Senior and Junior Concert Bands, and Senior Jazz.

The pupils from St Andrew's also had the opportunity to show off the compositions that they had worked on during the day with ‘Planet Earth’, a lively percussion performance.

It was a pleasure to work with the pupils from St Andrew’s CofE Primary School. Many thanks to Miss Sherwood, Head of Performing Arts, for organising the concert and sessions. The day was a nice opportunity for pupils to get a taste of life at secondary school. We look forward to welcoming pupils and parents back into school for our open evening on Thursday 4th July 2019, 5.30pm – 8.00pm.
