Image of ATS Girls' Football Teams Win at Preston Schools' Football Finals

Congratulations to the Archbishop Temple School Girls' Football Teams who played at the Preston Schools' Football Finals at Deepdale on Saturday.

Both the Under 14 Girls' and Under 16 Girls' Teams won. There was a dominant display from the Under 14's and they ended up 6-1 winners against Our Lady's Catholic High School. Olivia, in year 8, scored a hat trick and there was a wonderful strike from Grace in year 8. The Under 16's won - 5-2 against Broughton High School, coming from 1-2 behind to win comfortably. Lauren, in year 11, scored a wonderful free kick at a crucial time to make it 2-2. Lauryn and Menna, both in year 10, were exceptional.

Our Year 9 Boys' Team lost 3-1 against Ashton Community Science College in the tightest game of the day. The lads’ performance was very good especially due to the fact they were missing starting players. Stars were Dylan and Jake. Unfortunately, our Year 7 Boys’ Team lost. Again, they were missing players and they struggled against a strong team from Corpus Christi Catholic High School. Stars were Keaton and Ryan.

Thanks to anyone who came down and to Mr Alston for running a team.

Mr D. Taberner

Head of PE
