It was fantastic to see so many pupils and staff sporting their jeans on Friday 27th September 2019, in support of Jeans for Genes Day.
Following the event, Mrs McLean, Head of IT and Computing and organiser of Jeans for Genes Day in school, sent out a very special ‘thank-you’ featuring her ten year old niece Lottie. Lottie has a chromosome abnormality known as Isodicentric15 (Idic 15) and Mrs McLean outlined that Lottie would like to 'thank everyone who wore jeans or denim on Jeans for Genes day'.
"Every year I am overwhelmed by the participation and generosity of pupils and staff for this great charity. Thank you so much," said Mrs McLean.
The money raised on Jeans for Genes Day funds the work of the Genetic Disorders UK charity. It provides grants to organisations for projects that aim to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders. There are 500,000 children in the UK with genetic disorders.
Pupils and staff raised £564.11 for the charity, which makes the running total for six years now £2914.04.
