Yesterday evening we hosted our annual Careers and Options event. We were delighted to see so many Year 9, 10 and 11 pupils and their parents and carers in attendance.
A range of employers, training providers, college and university representatives supported the event. Special thanks to the representatives from the Army Careers service, Blackburn College, Blackpool and Fylde College, Cardinal Newman College, CREATE Education Project, DXC Technology, DWP, Edge Hill University, Eric Wright Group, GB3 Technology Solutions, Lancaster Girls Grammar School, Leyland Trucks, Lytham 6th Form College, Myserscough College, National Citizen Service 'The Challenge', Next Step Careers, the NHS, North Lancs Training Group, One Stop Hire, PNE FC Community and Education Trust, RAF, Rosemere Cancer Foundation - Radiotherapy Department, Royal Bank of Scotland, Runshaw College, UCLAN, United Utilities and Young Vocations in Blackburn Diocese for supporting our school and advising parents and pupils on career choices, training, apprenticeships and courses.
Teachers were also on hand to advise Year 9 pupils and their parents and carers on their Options. All Year 9 pupils will attend an individual Year 9 Options Consultation with a senior member of staff on the week beginning Monday 26th February 2018. Appointment times have been issued.
Thanks to the PTA for providing refreshments throughout the evening and thanks again to everyone who attended. We received a lot of positive comments from parents and pupils. We hope that it was useful and look forward to hosting another successful event again next year.
