Archbishop Temple New Futures Trust raises funds to supplement the school budget for the benefit of all the pupils at the school.
Why the school needs your support
Archbishop Temple School has a justified reputation as one of the leading schools in Lancashire. Year after year we are the best non-selective school in the county. Opened in 1964, our school was established to provide excellent education to the young people of Preston. Our New Futures Trust is established to financially support the future development of the school and ensure the excellent work continues.
Unlike schools maintained by the Local Authority, as a Church School we have to meet 10% of all building work and structural repairs to the school; 90% comes from Diocese. However, the Diocese only has the money to fund essential repairs to keep the building open. We need to fund any new developments ourselves. The New Futures Trust enables us to do this.
In spite of difficult economic times in which we live, the school is in a solid financial position; however the school budget alone cannot prudently finance all that we wish to do. It is vitally important to continue investing in our facilities to ensure we continue developing the best possible learning environment in which our pupils and staff can work and learn. This includes keeping pace with rapid technological changes.
We have invested in a state of the art WiFi system around school to allow us to develop our use of ICT in teaching and learning, and we are using this to develop the use of our Firefly VLE, but we would like to do more.
We are ambitious to create an exciting and modern learning environment for your child.
What we have achieved so far
The New Futures Trust has enabled us to raise money for a new school library and improve the outdoor space for our pupils. During the summer of 2014 we refurbished both school yards with new canopies, seating areas and a food pod. In 2016 the New Futures Trust funded a refurbishment of the English classrooms.
Our next project...
We would like to be able to improve the PE facilities by investing in a multi-use games area (MUGA). This will benefit our own pupils, and give us a facility we can let to our local community.
Archbishop Temple School is very fortunate in having so many parents who are very supportive and generous towards the school. We ask you to consider pledging money to the school so that we can invest in our and your child's future. Any money pledged, whether a large or small amount, is very much appreciated. Under the gift aid scheme the Trust is able to reclaim tax on money pledged, further increasing your donation.
How to contribute
We hope that parents will chose to make payments to the Trust during the five years their child is at Archbishop Temple School, either monthly or annually.
Please consider carefully how much you are able to give. We are ambitious in our plans and really want your child to have the best educational resources and facilities - with your help this can be achieved.
Thank you for your support.
