We are delighted to invite Year 9, 10 and 11 pupils and their parents/carers to our annual careers and options evening on Tuesday 6th February 2018.
Employers, training providers, college and university representatives will be attending the event, which will be held in school. It will be an excellent opportunity for Year 11 pupils to talk about possible opportunities starting in summer 2018, for year 10 pupils to find out about career and study opportunities and Year 9 pupils to find out about potential careers to help with their option choices. Teachers will be advising Year 9 pupils on options choices.
Employers who have already confirmed to attend the evening are; the armed forces (Army & RAF), Eric Wright Group, CREATE Education Project, DXC Technology, GB3 Technology Solutions, Lancashire Police, Leyland Trucks, NHS, Office Angels, One Stop Hire, Rosemere Cancer Centre - Radiotherapy Department, Royal Bank of Scotland, and United Utilities.
Training providers include the PNE Community and Education Trust, North Lancashire Training Group and VL Lancs.
Colleges who have confirmed to attend are Blackburn College, Blackpool and the Fylde College Engineering Department, Cardinal Newman College, Edge Hill University, Hutton Grammar 6th Form, Lancaster Girls Grammar 6th Form, Lytham 6th Form College, Myerscough College, Runshaw College and UCLAN.
Careers advisor Vic Ficorilli, from Next Step Careers, will be available to talk to pupils regarding career paths, colleges, apprenticeships and future employers. Rev. Alice Cole from Young Vocations in Blackburn Diocese will be attending to talk about church leadership and vocations within the church.
The PTA will be selling refreshments on the night.
