Click here to log onto the school library catalogue.

The library is now running a 'click and collect' service where pupils will be able to reserve a book from the school library catalogue and I, the librarian, will issue and deliver it to them.

Pupils can access the library catalogue on Firefly, the school website (via the link above) and on their school IPads. To log on they will need a login/barcode number and a password. Each pupil will receive an individual log in and barcode.

Once they have accessed the library catalogue, if they know the title or the author of the book they would like to borrow it will be easy for them to see if we have it in the library and reserve it. The library catalogue also allows pupils to search using key words. If they are interested in science fiction for instance, they can write ‘science fiction’ in the search engine and it will give them a list of science fiction books in our library. However, the library catalogue is not the ideal tool for browsing. If pupils are looking for ideas of what to read they have two options. First, they can go on the Waterstones’ website for inspiration, find something they would like to read and go on our school library catalogue to see if we have the book they fancy in stock. Alternatively, they can ask their form tutor for a Book Selector Questionnaire. In this questionnaire, I will ask them a few questions and in light of their responses I will recommend 3 books. They select their favourite and I will issue and deliver it to them.

Please contact me via the contact form on the school website if you have any questions.

Kind regards

Mrs Rigg
