Archbishop Temple School New Futures Trust raises funds to supplement the school budget for the benefit of all the pupils at the school.
Why the school needs your support
Archbishop Temple Church of England High School has a justified reputation as one of the leading schools in the country. Year after year we are the best non-selective school in the region. Opened in 1964, our school was established to provide excellent education to the young people of Preston. Our New Futures Trust is established to support the future development of the school and ensure the excellent work continues.
Unlike schools maintained by the Local Authority, we are a Church School. This means we have to meet 10% of all building work and structural repairs to the school; 90% comes from the Diocese. However, the Diocese only has the money to fund essential repairs to keep the building open. We need to fund any new developments ourselves. The New Futures Trust enables us to do this.
In spite of the difficult economic times in which we live, the school is in a solid financial position; however, the school budget alone cannot prudently finance all that we wish to do. It is vitally important to continue investing in our facilities to ensure we continue developing the best possible learning environment in which our pupils and staff can work and learn. This includes keeping pace with rapid technological changes.
We have invested in a state of the art WiFi system around school to allow us to develop our use of ICT in teaching and learning. Your child benefits from the innovative learning we provide using Firefly, iPads and an excellent ICT infrastructure. The New Futures Trust paid for this work, but there is so much more we’d like to do.
“We are ambitious to create an exciting and modern learning environment for our pupils”.
What we have achieved so far
Since it was established in 2014, the New Futures Trust has provided us with our wonderful school library. The Trust has also paid for the shelters on both the Junior and Senior yards. It also paid for the Lunch Pod and a generous provision of robust picnic benches and other seating areas. The new 2G surface on the tennis courts was also partially funded by the Trust. None of these developments would have happened without your support.
Our next project ...
In 2017 the school building was listed, and this makes developing the building much more costly. So your gifts are even more important to us. Our current priority is to refresh the learning environment in the classrooms to give your child modern and inviting places to learn.
Your gifts
Archbishop Temple Church of England High School is very fortunate in having so many friends who are very supportive and generous towards the school. Many parents donate £5 or £10 a month for the 5 years their child is with us. We ask you to consider pledging money to the school so that we can invest in our pupils’ futures. Any amount of money pledged is very much appreciated, and is only used for projects which directly benefit the children. Under the gift aid scheme the Trust is able to reclaim tax on money pledged, further increasing your donation.
How to contribute
Please consider supporting the school by completing the support form, which is available to download below, and returning it to school in the self addressed envelope. We will then do the rest.
So...
Please consider carefully how much you are able to give. We are ambitious in our plans and really want our pupils to have the best educational resources and facilities.
Thank you for your support.
