On Friday 27th September 2019, we are inviting pupils and staff to wear their jeans, or an item of denim, in support of Jeans for Genes Day in exchange for a £1 donation.
The money raised on Jeans for Genes Day funds the work of the Genetic Disorders UK charity. It provides grants to organisations for projects that aim to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders. There are 500,000 children in the UK with genetic disorders.
Last year we raised over £630 for the charity, which was a fantastic achievement.
"I was thrilled with the support from pupils and staff last year," said Mrs McLean, Head of IT and Computing, and organiser of the event.
"There was a tremendous amount of participation, raising a record amount of money for the Genetic Disorders UK charity. Let's see if we can raise even more to help children with genetic disorders this year."
A selection of the photos from last year's event are featured below.
All clothing must be school appropriate. If pupils are not wearing jeans, or denim, they must come into school in their uniform.
