The Geography department is extremely grateful for the fantastic new 'Progress in Geography' Key Stage 3 textbooks funded by the PTA. We are currently developing existing schemes of work to further support reading, geographic literacy, stretch and challenge provision, and update case study resources to further support transition to Key Stage 4. The textbook is great for developing Ordnance Survey map skills and following the enquiry-based approach. It covers all knowledge and understanding outlined in the National Curriculum for Key Stage 3 and lays firm foundations for pupils to study Geography at GCSE and beyond. We like how the key terms are highlighted and explained, in line with our school focus on improved literacy through developing better use of key terms. Learning objectives and activities are outlined clearly and lesson enquiry questions encourage students to start thinking straight away.
