Pupils in year 11 enjoyed a special celebration in school to mark their final day today. The morning began with an extended form time, when they all had the opportunity to have their shirts signed. Some pupils had made an extra effort, arriving with specially embellished shirts for signing.

In period 2, all pupils took part in an extended collective worship led by Chaplain Andy and Mr Gray, Head of Year 11. Those with 100% attendance received awards and all pupils received a bag containing an exclusive Archbishop Temple Church of England High School pen and commemorative pin, a Jubilee pin, a little book of help prayer book, a keyring cross featuring their name and the prayer they chose on their first Spirituality Day in year 7 and a St Christopher. To round off the collective worship they all watched a ten minute video featuring photographs from their primary day, all the way through to year 11.

The morning finished off with a hot dog or jacket potato and ice cream or slush for every year 11 pupil and the opportunity for photographs in the senior yard. It was a happy, yet emotional morning, for many.

"After the time year 11 have had due to the pandemic, it was fantastic to see all of them celebrating their time at Archbishop Temple," said Mr Catlow, Headteacher. "We've had a brilliant celebratory morning, featuring a special collective worship, hotdogs, jacket potatoes and ice cream and it has been wonderful to witness their formation into young adults."

"We look forward to welcoming them back into school for their final exams next week and to Barton Manor Hotel for their school prom next month."

"It was a very emotional farewell to our Class of 2022," said Mr Gray, Head of Year 11. "Best wishes for their remaining exams and for their future careers. I look forward to them keeping in touch."

Thank you to all the staff who helped organise such a memorable morning.

Pupils in year 11 now return to school in full uniform for their exams. They should arrive at least 15 minutes before the published time of their exam and register with the Attendance Officer in the main office and sign out when they leave the premises.
