Look at these inspiring new displays on the corridor leading to the PE Department. They feature some of our recent winning teams, including the Year 7 Boys Football Team who were the Lancashire Champions in 2017 and the Year 7 Girls Football Team who were also the Lancashire Champions in 2017. More recently, the Under 12 Basketball Team were the Lancashire Champions in 2022 and the Under 16 Girls Football Team were also the Lancashire Champions in 2022.
The display features sporting stars who have attended Archbishop Temple Church of England High School. Jamaine Coleman attended from 2007-2012, he is the British 3000m Steeplechase Champion and has represented Team GB. Kathryn Greenslade attended from 2009 - 2014 and is a British swimmer. She competed in the women's 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay event at the 2018 European Aquatics Championships, winning the gold medal. Isaac Mabaya attended from 2016 - 2021 and is a footballer. He signed a professional contract with Liverpool FC in September 2021 and also plays for England's Under 19 squad. Joining Isaac, Kathryn and Jamaine on the walls of Archbishop Temple are inspiring figures from the sporting world; Marcus Rashford MBE, Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill and Michael Jordan.
We hope the displays inspire all of our pupils to get involved in sport and achieve to be the best that they can be.
