Following on from the year 7 trip to Chester Zoo, Mrs Parkinson, Head of Year 7, set a photography competition. We were delighted to receive over 50 entries, everyone who entered received a house point.

Mrs Brown, who takes photographs in school, assisted in judging the entries.

“We received entries of such high quality, it was difficult to decide,” said Mrs Brown. “So, we awarded pupils whose photos were highly commended with two extra house points. Well done to Archie, Charlotte, Joshua, Harvey, Caden, Larissa, Charlotte and Bruce, your images really stood out.”

Basil’s fantastic photo of a resting lion received third place and Zach’s funny photo of a curious orangutan received second place. Harley’s striking photograph of a baby elephant playing in the water won first place.

“Congratulations to Harley,” said Mrs Brown. “He did a fantastic job of capturing the baby elephant at play next to its mother. His photograph is one that a professional photographer would be proud of.”

Basil and Zach received two extra house points plus a prize and Harley received three house points plus a prize. Well done!
