We are delighted to announce that our school’s application for Tesco Stronger Starts has been successful! This means that our school sustainability project will be put forward to a customer vote in local Tesco stores.
The aims of the school sustainability project are to promote outdoor learning, increase biodiversity and rewilding, develop the school grounds to support wellbeing, and promote sustainable practices across school.
Voting will commence in store from the first week of October 2023 until mid-January 2024. So, please look out for Archbishop Temple Church of England High School - Outdoor Learning – Preston when you are shopping in the following Tesco stores: Moor Lane Express, Fulwood Express, Penwortham Superstore, Ribbleton Express, Blackpool Road Preston Express, Tulketh Mill Express and Friargate Express.
The project with the highest number of votes across our region will receive £1,500, the second placed project £1,000, and the third placed project £500.
To vote, you will need to make a purchase within store of any value. You will receive one token per transaction and it's not necessary to purchase a carrier bag in order to receive a token. Please cast your vote as soon as you receive your tokens.
Over the next few months, we will be encouraging people to vote for our school sustainability project in Tesco on our school website, social media and via school post. Please could you share the posts and emails with friends and family in the local area to encourage votes.
Our school eco club meets every Friday lunch time at 1.10pm in room 38. The eco club is looking for an eco-rep from each form. Please encourage your son/daughter to get involved.
Thank you for supporting our school sustainability project!
