Many thanks to everyone who entered the European Day of Languages Bake Off competition. The Modern Foreign Languages Department received twenty seven beautifully decorated entries into the competition.
"I am absolutely overwhelmed by the entries we received," said Mrs Jimenez, Head of Modern Foreign Languages. "A huge thank you to all of our young bakers who took time out of their weekends to enter. I am really moved that so many of you wanted to take part."
The European Day of Languages has been celebrated annually on the 26th September since 2001. It was set up by the Council of Europe to encourage people to discover languages at any age. This stems from the Council of Europe’s conviction that linguistic diversity is a tool for achieving greater intercultural understanding and a key element in the rich cultural heritage of our continent. Therefore, the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg, promotes plurilingualism in the whole of Europe.
Everyone who entered the competition will receive 5 Light Points. A special congratulations goes to the following pupils
1) Holly A - Year 7
2) Carys R - Year 7
3) Emily P - Year 8
4) Lola C - Year 7
5) George R - Year 8
A special commendation goes to Martha M in Year 7.
Well done to all of you!
