Our year 10 pupils studying GCSE Art and Textiles enjoyed a virtual creative careers talk on Wednesday morning delivered by a team from across the different departments of Manchester Museum. We enjoyed hearing about the museum and the different job roles involved in making everything they do possible. We spoke with Mattie Davies (Secondary & Post-16 Science Coordinator), Dr Alexandra Alberda (Acting Deputy Head of Collections, Curator of Indigenous Perspectives), Karen Brackenridge (Culture, Health & Wellbeing Assistant) and Dr Sam Beath (Conservation and Collection Care Manager) regarding their career journeys and experience which has led to their current roles, before having the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session.
We hope this has inspired our young creatives and opened their eyes to the many possible career routes they could embark on should they choose to pursue a career in the creative industries.
