Hello, hola, bonjour and ciao!

Staff from the Modern Foreign Languages Department were blown away by the amazing entries into the European Day of Languages Bake Off. Twenty eight pupils received three house points each for taking part.

The delicious bakes ranged from a fantastic edible Bundesflagge, the German national flag, to a tasty looking Tricolore, the French national flag, and a delicious Union Jack. We also received a Black Forest Cake and Sachertorte, amongst many other wonderful entries. With so many fantastic entries, it was very difficult for our panel of experts to choose a winner and runners up.

The following pupils received a special distinction for their bakes;

Isabella P, in year 8, Daniel and Alex T, in years 8 and 9, and Hollie-Mai, in year 10.

The overall winner was Alana M in year 7. She baked a French themed cake with the Eiffel Tower and lovely decorations. The judging panel were all very impressed with her baking and wonderful presentation.

Thank you to everyone who took part. We will continue celebrating the European Day of Languages today selling crêpes at break.
