Year 8 pupils took part in an initiative led by Lancashire County Council to promote the importance of education about racism in their ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ workshop, arranged by Miss Shaw and Mrs Bridges.

Pupils learnt to identify what racism, Antisemitism and Islamophobic behaviours involved. They worked in groups to discuss ideas and studied a range of case studies. Furthermore, pupils learnt how to respond when they came across such behaviours. The lessons were highly engaging and students learnt a great deal from the activities.

Following on from this, we aim to integrate a range of new resources based on the workshop into current schemes of learning, such as in PSHE and Geography, as we learn about multicultural societies and stereotypes in different cultures and traditions.
