November is Cut Your Carbon month and we are taking part in the Cut Your Carbon Challenge. All pupils have been sent the Cut Your Carbon leaflet on Firefly by Mrs Thompson, Curriculum Lead for Geography. Detailed on the leaflet are nine simple actions such as making one journey sustainable or turning down the heating by one degree.
If pupils achieve these 9 'cut your carbon' challenges with their family, they need to ask their parent/carer for a signature in the back of their Geography book or on a piece of paper stating 'xxxx has completed the 9 point carbon challenge, signed xxxxxxxx' and show a Geography Teacher or their form teacher for a Light point.
Eco-Schools is challenging all young people in England to take action on their carbon footprint. Completing these 9 simple actions with families and friends will raise awareness, change behaviours, and Cut Your Carbon - a greenhouse gas responsible for driving climate change.
