Our year 7 pupils have been enjoying discovering and reading the Eurotoolbox Multilingual Books in our school library. They rotated around tables featuring books written in French, Italian, Polish, Spanish and German. They translated the titles of each book in groups, using dictionaries, visual clues and the vocabulary they have learnt in lessons.
At the end of each session, the modern foreign languages teacher read a familiar children's short story in Spanish with visual clues to help pupils understand.
Earlier this term, pupils from year 9, along with Mrs Jimenez and Miss Zanessi, took the books to St Andrew's Church of England Primary School, inspiring year 6 to learn modern foreign languages.
