We were delighted to welcome Rt Rev Dr Jill Duff, the Bishop of Lancaster, to lead our whole school Easter Communion today.
Mr Catlow, Headteacher, opened the communion, followed by a whole school rendition of the hymn My Lighthouse, led by pupils from our school choir, Miss Sherwood and the school band. Bishop Jill spoke about how we can know Jesus' presence in the darkness this Holy Week as he shines his light in our hearts, relaying personal stories of hope after darkness. The communion featured readings beautifully read by our pupils, followed by the hymn Shine Jesus Shine and then everyone took part in communion. This was followed by a blessing from Bishop Jill, then Shine God's Light, our school hymn and our school prayer.
Thank you to the Rt Rev Dr Jill Duff for joining us and leading the service and thank you to everyone who took part. We wish you and your family a joyful and blessed Easter.
