We are so proud of our Senior Prefect for Pupil Council, Ayaana, who has recently attended her first meeting at Hutton Police Headquarters since being selected as a member of the Youth Independent Advisory Group (YIAG).

Ayaana was nominated for the role by Mrs Fawcett and has undergone a rigorous application process, and a variety of training modules, in order to succeed. Ayaana has a clear passion for making a positive difference both within our school community and beyond. She always finds time to support others, despite also being a very busy and conscientious Year 11 pupil.

At her first meeting with the YIAG Ayaana was able to raise concerns about the lack of lighting and the absence of a crossing on St Vincent's Road. This is one of the first areas of concern that our Pupil Council are currently working on and all pupils have been given an opportunity for their concerns to be heard, through a survey in school.  We are now in contact with LCC and will update our school community when we have more information to share.

Well done Ayaana, keep shining your light both within our school community, and beyond.
